This is a classic West Coast (USA) style IPA. It has a dry finish, with limited malt sweetness, which accentuates the hop flavour and hop bitterness. So the beer is punchy on hop flavour, and firm lingering hop bitterness. The bitterness is 66 IBU - hoppy, bitter, dry.

Hop Dragon - after the success of Epic's fresh hop beer Hop Gator last year they thought "how do we make this bigger and better". What is a flying Gator they thought, because they fly the hops from the hop farm on the same morning as they are harvested and have them in the beer just after lunch so they are as fresh as we can possibly get them? A Dragon, and coincidentally it is the year of the Dragon. Hop Dragon is packful of freshly harvested green, fresh Riwaka hops from Eggers Hop Farm in Upper Moutere. Hop farmer Kem gets up super early and heads out in the dark to find the freshest, ripest Riwaka hops he can find, Once again he has made us all proud. For the 10th anniversary of Hop Zombie (2021) Epic decided to brew something that was bigger, and came up with the name 'Zombier', because it is bigger than Hop Zombie. This batch is a re-brew (second time only) of ZombieR because people are always asking when Epic were going to brew it again. Out of the can there is that familiar aroma of the guava and passionfruit. On tasting though they will find there is a noticeable difference compared to Hop Zombie. It seems that the balance of the beer is noticeably greater. This leads to an unfortunately high level of drinkability. There will be people that think having two cans is a good idea because it tastes so good, and so easy to drink. All they will say is beware, and respect the Zombie, it bites. 10% ABV.
